Bocca is a geometric display font I designed as an exercise to learn font design. The letter forms where made in Illustrator based on a hand sketch, and exported as .svg files into Font Forge. As this was ment to be a quick exercise there was very little research. The letter forms where devised intuitively from a basic set of rules, using the minimal number of transformations to turn a perfect square into a letter. As such Bocca sits between legibilty and abstraction. Numerals, symbols, and accents where designed as an extension, with more freedom, to increase usability
